Bawdsey Sweet Pea
Sweet Pea has some of the oldest bloodlines in the stud book, her sire is Baledon Czar out of Kirby Cane Barley. SHE WAS THE WINNING SECTION B BARREN MARE ROYAL WELSH SHOW 1997 (see p357 1998 Welsh Pony & Cob Society Journal). Sweet Pea has a wonderful temperment, and is a pleasure to own.

Sweet Pea is a very old fashioned true to type mare with plenty of bone and extravagant action. We purchased her to put to our young stallion Soudley Royalist who is by Telynau Royal Charter (see P81, 1997 Welsh Pony & Cob Society Journal, since exported to USA) out of Cottrell Porcelain. He was only shown once coming 4th at Glanusk 2000.
This has proved to be an excellent cross, the first foal, Soudley Royal Rose, had a very successful showing career as a yearling before being purchased as a two year old, by Mrs Diane Sommers, California.

We bought Rosie as a Three year old filly and she has bred us some outstanding stock. Her first colt was exported to Holland. Her second colt,
Soudley Taliesin by Eyarth Rio, was a medal winning colt he has since been sold to Mrs Stephens who has continued to have great success with him.
Soudley Taliesin, sire of Lemonshill Top Note, winnings include, Cuddy Supreme In-hand Championship at Royal Cornwell, Male and Youngstock Champion & Res Champion Overall at the Royal Welsh as a yearling. He has continued his winning ways, winning his class at the Royal Welsh as a two year old. See WPCS journal 2004, p82 & 528, WPCS journal 2005, p546.

Her next colt by Eyarth Rio, is Soudley Gawain, he has been sold as a driving pony to the Spanish Driving Champion, he is at present being driven as a pair.

In 2002, Mrs Mansfield kindly allowed Primrose to visit Rotherwood State Occasion, the result of which was a filly, which will be retained as a future brood mare, Soudley Princess Royal. unfortunately she has inherited her mother's dislike of the show ring, so after one outing she has been retired to the field.

Soudley Glimmer a young home bred mare out of Cottrell Charade (Penwood El-Dorado out of Cottrell Charm who won the Royal Welsh Barren Mare Class 1993, see P262, 1994 Welsh Pony & Cob Society Journal) by the hugely successful Telynau Royal Charter (see p81 1997 Welsh Pony & Cob Society Journal) he has now been exported to the USA, where his success has been phenomenal, 2004 American National Champion.
